Osimhen facing three months out

SSC Napoli frontman and recent Arsenal transfer target Victor Osimhen is facing a lengthy spell on the treatment table after suffering a serious head injury in I Partenopei’s 3-2 loss against current Scudetto holders Inter Milan at the San Siro over the weekend.

The Nigerian international clashed heads with Inter center-back Milan Škriniar and ended worse for wear, suffering multiple displaced facial fractures that required immediate surgery, according to Football Italia.

Gianluca Di Marzio gave an update today on the situation involving Osimhen, stating that the former LOSC Lille standout is now facing three months on the sidelines after his successful surgery, citing an article in PazziDiFanta which mentioned an official press release from Napoli stating “Victor Osimhen was operated on this morning by Prof. Tartaro, assisted by dr. Mario Santagata and in the presence of dr. Canonical, for a reduction and restraint of multi-fragmentary and displaced fractures of the malar bone, of the zygomatic arch and pommel, of the floor and lateral wall of the orbit, and of the diastasis of the frontal-zygomatic suture. The synthesis of the bone abutments was done with titanium plates and screws. The player is fine and will remain under observation for a few days. The prognosis is estimated at about 90 days.”

Arsenal linked with Romanian starlet dubbed “the next Kylian Mbappé”

Transfer links continue to swirl at Arsenal this season despite what was already a whirlwind summer at the Emirates Stadium, with the club being linked with business for Romanian U21 starlet Ianis Stoica.

The 18-year old Bucharest-native and FCSB academy graduate won’t be well known in England or many other corners of Europe, but he burst onto the scene when he made his professional debut when he was just 14-years-old back in 2017, scoring on his debut in the process.

According to Romanian outlet Playsport, Arsenal has been tracking the youngster for a number of months and could be prepared to splash €10million to pry him out of the Romanian capital.

Stoica would certainly fit the bill of the profile of player Arsenal have targeted beginning in the summer, with the Gunners looking to build a squad for the long-term under Mikel Arteta. But Arsenal is hardly lacking in young attacking players at the minute, and any business for Stoica could throw the futures of both Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun in jeopardy.
