“I’ll Truly Never Forget You” – Bayley Pays a Heartwarming Tribute After the Demise of Melissa Coates
Former WWE SmackDown Women’s champion Bayley hasn’t had the best couple of months. She wasn’t able to defeat her rival, Bianca Belair, at Hell in a Cell for the title as well. But being the role model, she will bounce back from it. However, do you know who her role model is?
Bayley recently took to Twitter to express her appreciation for her friend, Melissa Coates. Apparently, she wrestled Melissa in her very first match.
I had my very first match against Melissa Coates. There’s always a forever connection when you share the ring with someone and I’m honored to have that with her. Thank you for being so sweet, helpful and busting my brace face open. I’ll truly never forget you. pic.twitter.com/wi33PmoyaD

The picture attached shows Bayley in a submission hold by Melissa and another wrestler. She genuinely sounds honored to have shared the ring with Melissa. More than a co-worker, Melissa was a friend, if not a sister, to her. We all are deeply saddened by Melissa’s passing.

Bayley is Britt Baker’s role model
Now, you know who Bayley idolizes, but who idolizes Bayley? The answer is All Elite Wrestling’s Women’s champion, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. She was a recent panelist at the “Steel City Comic Con” and revealed that Bayley along with Sasha Banks were her role models. She said,
“Oh, speaking of the devil [Baker referring to a previous comment about her hugging Izzy at the Double Or Nothing media scrum], probably Bayley or Sasha [Banks]. It’d have to be one of them because those are two of my role models that I watched when I was first training to be a wrestler, so that’s something — but I mean that’s five years ago so that’s when I was training, they were main-eventing NXT TakeOver so that was when the tides were turning, they kind of paved the wave for my generation of wrestling even though they’re still my generation, they came before me.” (H/t PostWrestling for transcriptions)

Bayley has certainly done more than enough to secure her position as the role model in WWE. She, along with other female wrestlers, have taken the women’s division where it deservedly is today. We are absolutely sure that only better things are in store for the next generation of female wrestlers.
