Lacazette set for Arsenal exit

Arsenal veteran forward Alexandre Lacazette looks set to finally part ways with the Gunners after the club has decided to not extent fresh terms to the Frenchman.

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, the former Olympique Lyonnais fan favorite now prefers a move to current La Liga holders Atlético Madrid after his terms at the Emirates Stadium come to an end.

Atléti have been tracking Lacazette for quite some time, dating back to before the Gunners pried him out of France as Lacazette eventually chose Arsenal, but their interest could be set to resume given he would be available on a free and is four years younger than current leading front man Luis Suárez.

Moreover, El Nacional touted that relationships with countrymen Antoine Griezmann and Thomas Lemar could also serve as makeweights in a potential move to the Wanda Metropolitano in the summer.

Other clubs are said to be interested in the Frenchman however, including Barcelona, AC Milan, and Inter Milan.

Gunners continue to rebuild with link to Romanian starlet

It comes as no surprise that Arsenal is willing to move away from Alexandre Lacazette rather than give a long-term extension to a 30-year-old forward who, while talented and certainly suited to the system under Mikel Arteta, could find them tied to another player on the wrong side of 30 that is tied to a big wage packet similar to the situation with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But recent links with Romanian U-21 starlet Ianis Stoica show that the club is set to continue with the youthful recruitment drive that they began in earnest in the summer with signings like Sambi Lokonga.

Stoica – only 18-years-old and already fully integrated into the first team at FCSB after making his club debut at just fourteen – is said to be the “next Kylian Mbappé” as the club looks to recruit more options into the forward line given the age profiles of both Lacazette and Aubameyang.

The capture of the Romanian, if a January move materialized, would add him to young pieces of the long-term puzzle the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Martinelli, and Folarin Balogun.
