Liverpool handed boost as doubtful trio spotted in training ahead of Porto

Liverpool have been handed some boosts on the personnel front ahead of their Champions League clash with FC Porto on Wednesday.

Liverpool vs Porto

Liverpool are back in Champions League action on Wednesday evening.

The Reds are set to play host to FC Porto in an 8 pm UK time kick-off.

Liverpool head into the game with nothing to play for. This is due to Jurgen Klopp’s side having already secured both a place in the knockout rounds and their spot atop of Group B.

Liverpool would win their first four Champions League group games of the season by a scoreline of 13-5.

As a result, they are currently sitting pretty with 12 points, whilst 2nd place Porto have amassed just five and 3rd place Atletico Madrid just four.

So, even if Liverpool lose to Porto and then to AC Milan next month, Atletico are unable to catch them, making this tie of very little importance to the Merseysiders.

Doubtful trio spotted in training

Ahead of the game, though, Liverpool have been handed some boosts on the personnel front.

Liverpool’s last outing would see them smash Arsenal 4-0 on Saturday evening. Both Andy Robertson and James Milner would miss that clash through injury.

Elsewhere, during that game, Diogo Jota picked up a knee issue and needed to be assessed:

At the time, Klopp was hopeful it was nothing serious and his wish has seemingly come true, with all of Jota, Milner and Robertson spotted in training on Tuesday evening:
