Update on Jorginho ahead of Juventus clash

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel provided a timely update surrounding the fitness of key midfielder Jorginho.

The Italian international was subbed off on 77-minutes earlier today against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, prompting questions to be asked whether or not the central fulcrum would be fit and available for the Blues midweek clash against Serie A giants Juventus.

But the German tactician put to bed any notion of fear surrounding his availability after he confirmed that Jorginho was not suffering from anything serious.

Instead, the Chelsea boss stated that what ails the Italian is nothing more than fatigue-related cramping and that his availability for the Juventus test in midweek is currently not in question.

Chelsea continues to roll after Leicester City drubbing

What was not in question during the lunchtime kick-off was the title credentials that Chelsea continue to put on display this season in the first full campaign for Thomas Tuchel at the King Power Stadium after the Blues ran out 3-0 winners against Brendan Rodgers’ struggling Leicester City.

Antonio Rüdiger set Chelsea on their way on 14-minutes before N’Golo Kanté’s stunning effort doubled the Blues’ lead inside the 30-minute mark. And Tuchel’s men continued to knock on the door time and again before Christian Pulisic put the result beyond doubt in the 71st-minute.

The home loss cemented Leicester’s place in the bottom half of the time at the minute, and should both Brentford and Southampton net three-point hauls this weekend, the Foxes could drop as low as 14th in what is a massively concerning start to the domestic campaign for a club looking to firmly establish themselves as a top 4-6 outfit.

As for Chelsea, they now temporarily sit 6-points clear of Manchester City and are looking increasingly capable of sitting atop the table for the duration of the season, netting 30-goals in twelve matches while boasting an incredible defensive record with just four goals surrendered thus far.

At the moment, no one looks like catching the Blues.
